Mr. Song Sing Kwee

Mr Song Sing Kwee was educated in an English college at Johor Bahru, Johor. He became a teacher upon completion of his secondary education for a period of 14 years. Subsequently he left the teaching profession and went to United Kingdom to pursue a legal career in 1974 and was admitted as a Barrister-at-Law with Lincoln’s Inn, United Kingdom. Upon returning from U.K., he chambered at Messrs A.L. Looi and after being called to the Malaysian Bar, he set up his own legal firm in 1980.
Character building is more important than building a reputation as the latter is merely other’s perceptions.
Mr. Song has an aptitude for politics and was a state assemblyman for Bandar Maharani State Seat Johor from 1986 to 1990. Throughout his political career and until the present, Mr Song has continuously volunteered and provided his legal services in many aspects to the general public, particularly in the areas of providing services to the general public. He has at all material times employed his legal background to discharge his duties as a politician to assist and educate the public on many aspects of laws affecting and involving their livelihood and daily lives.
His area of practice includes Banking and Financial Industry Law, Corporate & Commercial Law, and he is well exposed in Criminal Laws and our Penal Code. Mr Song has handled many cases in employment law, labour and industrial cases. Mr. Song has been in opposition politics for more than 30 years. He has stood in the 1982, 1986, 1990, 1995 and 1999 General Elections.
